Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) administer the Common Admission Test (CAT) yearly for making admissions to the graduate level engineering courses (B. Tech). The university issues formal notification regarding the examination . Candidates have to apply online after adhering to the eligibility criteria. The application form, application procedure & fee, the exam pattern, important dates, and result etc are all made available in the information brochures at the official website during the announcement of the CUSAT CAT exam.
- Candidates must possess a 10+2 or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board / University.
- Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics subject in the qualifying exam.
- The aggregate marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) must be more than 50%
All the interested and eligible candidates need to register themselves online for CUSAT CAT (exam is held usually in the month of January). Candidates must ensure to keep in hand the mandatory documents (scanned) before starting to apply for the examination.
APPLICATION FEE AND PAYMENT METHOD
Candidates are obligated to deposit a particular amount of the application fee pertaining to specific categories / quota. They may have to pay the application fee in cash through an SBI challan or whatever mode specified in the information brochure at the official website in the particular year.
CUSAT CATAdmit Cards are made available from the month of April on the official website. None of the candidates are communicated individually regarding the availability of the Admit Cards.
CUSAT CAT usually consists of two papers – Mathematics and Physics & Chemistry. It is a computerized examination containing a set of questions where negative markings also prevail. The latter comprises questions in a 3:2 ratio i.e. Physics 75 questions and Chemistry 50 questions.
CUSAT CAT 2016 results are normally announced by the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in the month of May for the B.Tech programs other than Marine Engineering.
A distinctive Merit List is declared for B.Tech Marine Engineering in the month of June. Candidates are required to provide their CUSAT CAT exam details after which the results are available for downloading from the official website.
The CUSAT CAT counselling schedule gets announced at the official website in the month of July. This counselling is only applicable to all the rank holders.
